Which battery?

Hi

Been a while since I was on the forum.

The battery on my 12/2009 Berlingo XTR1.6 diesel is now 13 years old. 110k miles. I have decided it is time it retired as it is beginning to show some signs of its age on cold days. It is holding a charge of 12.3 volts which is a bit low so rather than wait for it to let me down I want to put it out to pasture.

I have no idea what the standard fitment is without taking the cover off.....an 027 I think but I was thinking of replacing it with a Bosch S4008 or S5008 which I believe is an 092

I live in France and both are easily available. Can anyone confirm these will fit?

As far as I know, you can fit a 027 or 096 to the berlingo. The 096 being a larger battery.

Mine came with a 027 but I replaced with a 096. That is now dying on the test meter, so looking to replace again shortly.

Thanks. I fitted a Bosch 096 in the end. Nice easy job. The old battery seems OK but is no doubt tired after 13 years so as we are going back to the UK for a week I thought a new battery was in order. Big praise for a Varta lasting 13 years!
