My Berlingo 2.0 HDI was down on performance, sluggish and slow pulling away, it also had the same issue that my last 2.0 HDI Peugeot Partner had, it would not sit at 30mph in 4th gear or 40mph in 4th etc. It would chug/Labour and the only way to stop it was to change down a gear.
In an attempt to address the sluggish performance I bought a MAF sensor off eBay. The transformation was incredible and it now feels like it’s been chipped. It tears away from a standing start and flies along like a new van. The new MAF sensor also cured the chugging issue and it happily sits in 4th at 30mph etc etc without issue. The best £30 I’ve spent for a long while
I do have another issue that someone can hopefully shed some light on. My N/S brake shoes are being scored by the edge of the drum. I’ve checked for the obvious wheel bearing wear but can’t detect any and everything else seems fine. The scoring only happens whilst cornering a right hand bend or roundabout. Any ideas please?
