The latest models have a camera and a rain sensor there.

I guess you have a B9 (2008-2018)...
It's the GPS antenna for the Tracker & sat nav unit.
The USB cable sticks out of the windscreen pillar on the drivers side if it was a separate nav unit or is not visible if built into the touchscreen.
