Strange Coincidence
#1
Today my wife and I visited RHS Wisley.  Having parked up and making our way to the entrance, there in front of us was our old Berlingo, which I hadn't seen since the day I traded it in over 3 years ago.  I can't explain why, but it seemed very strange just seeing it out of the blue like that.

If the current owner is on the forum, 'Hi' and it's lovely to see it's being looked after so nicely.

I scrapped an MG Midget years and years ago and blow me down if I didn't see it parked up in my town twenty years later.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.

I was overtaken by my previous van in traffic when driving through the city centre. I should have kept the alloys and the roof rails, not to mention the bloody expensive front tyres I fitted (Goodyear Vector IV all weather)

I practice bangernomics, if I see one of my old cars, it's probably got a Heinz or John Smith's label on.

Over the last few years I have sold a few cars, all to local buyers, that's within 20 miles of us. We live in a rural area so not that many people.
I have never seen any of them since, not one!

Usually they get shipped out to a dealer in another area. Not good business for people to learn what the trade in Vs sale price was. That's why you rarely see them. In most cases people from the same area have gone further afield to buy the car, and end up with your trade in.

My Cit dealer weren’t that shy. Best he would give me trade in for my 09reg in 2017 was £2600 which tbf was the same as We buy any car. It was soon on the forecourt nicely valeted for £3900 & sold days later. Last yr they gave me £7600 for my 2017 off my new Berl & salesman told me he had a buyer waiting . I’m guessing that went for about £11k.

I think these days they make more profit on the trade in than the new sale. Glad I changed last yr though. £22k for diesel Feel including towbar & spare wheel. Now they are making diesels again price is £25k.
