Has anyone here cut the floor to access the top of the diesel fuel tank?
1.6 HDi is spraying diesel over the inside of n/s/r wheel from top of tank.
Tank is nearly empty, (ran out of fuel showing 140 mile range).
Need to see why its suddenly spraying fuel.

Sounds a wee bit extreme? I haven't heard anyone doing that mate.

I've done the cutting on older bangers in the past and yes it is extreme Lol ! .. but it does work well.
At least being petrol it won't catch fire if you use a disc cutter but you'd need to plate back over afterwards.
You may well find a pipe is loosing fuel at a joint.
Good luck !

Ta for replies. Yes hadnt considered it till it was suggested, apparently common for some vehicles. I need to find detailed tank pics to cut only the necessary area, if i need to drop the tank to see where to cut, it defeats the object unless the issue recurrs.
Has anyone else experienced diesel spraying from the tank? Suggests something is perished so i'd expect it to be more of a common fault?

Perhaps you can get a reasonable view of pipes and fillers with the wheelarch liner removed ?
