There is a section where it allows you to select "control of the central display using the buttons" or similar, it refers to a module which was an optional extra when a stereo was not fitted due to the customer not requiring one, this module has a knob and a few buttons to control the central MFD display. Could be you selected that and so the display is not listening to the CAN messages generated by the stereo.
Have a look at the section for this, I am certain it is in the BSI as I used it recently and forgot to put it back, thinking it would allow control using the volume stalk but it didn't, then again when I sent CAN messages manually using the laptop, the MFD did respond as expected so maybe it isn't that.
Have you dislodged the CAN socket pins on the RD45 quad lock connector? (or is it not plugged in securely)
Is the RD45 still fitted and if so, why did you move the beeps to the column?

Long story. Didn’t like the stereo I fitted. Saw a new original unit from china ,bought that . Worked fine. No bongs through stereo though so changed it to steering column. Couldn’t leave it there doh! Starting playing with menu in diag. Came across the bit with uninstalling ,installing RD 45. Thought this might fix the bongs. Thinking this might have stopped it working. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling and seemed to want to connect to reinstall. Wondering whether it couldn’t reinstall without connecting to net and this has caused lack of operation. All supposition might be nothing to do with that! To cap it all realised I think it was trying to produce the bongs through the rear speakers. If I had altered it to come through front speakers probably would have worked. Got a bit bong fixated should have just left it alone when it all worked. Will have a look at what you have suggested . Think I might have to take it to dealer.

Ahhh ok I get all of that.
What year is your vehicle? From 2016 registration cars it is not possible to code things "in" but I expect it bloody lets you delete them (not tried that but sounds like the type of jolly japery Citroen would engage in) -I did notice the engine ECU configuration tries to contact Citroen for "authorization token" in Diagbox v9.68 but the BSI seems not to do so, therefore it may be worth trying again. BSI configuration > configure new parts > add audio ecu > save etc
And yes, front speakers are the default and would probably have worked.
Edit: I see you have a 2013 B9 so if you use v7.57 to 7.62 of Diagbox then it should (will) let you do anything you like at all.

I sent you a PM mate...7.62 is the version I used most as it includes a fix for the DPF on the 2013 vehicles

That’s intriguing. What’s the dpf fix then. Just gone over 100000 and can feel impending eoly and dpf problems.

There was a bug in the previous versions before 7.62 and the DPF was not properly supported. Version 7.62 allows you to carry out a standing DPF regeneration. Also you can see things like the soot level, the oil ash level and the PAT fluid level (estimated if it's a pouch, measured if it's a tank) and code replacements when required.
If you end up with a clogged DPF, you can clean it yourself and then code a "new" one in the replacement parts menu. It will work again for another 100k miles.
