Simplest of jobs! Not!
#1
Hi all

My nearside dipped headlight bulb has stopped working.

Its the low beam H7 type.

Is there an easy way to change it. My fat fingers are struggling to release the bulb.

I can only see it by using a camera and can't make out the clip.

Also noted a frayed wire in my picture so may need to remove headlight?

Any help and tips much appreciated.

Still required a screwdriver to ping bulb out past clip.

Which idiot designed this? Jobs like this should be straight forward and easy to do not take the car apart.

Can you tell my knuckles are sore and I'm not impressed with Citroen yet?

They just pull out - no clip at all on the K9. I am more surprised they dont just fall out with general driving!

Thank you.

1st one just didn't want to come out except with some persuasion.
Just as well as I wouldn't have seen dodgy wire.

Changed driver side too which just came out when I pulled connector.

All done now.

Still not impressed with Citroen design.

It does look like the clips have a hold in your picture. Stupid design.

Try the sidelight bulbs in the BMW Mini Countryman AWD...they are in the fog light units, in the bumper, requiring the wheels to come off, the arch liners to be removed, then the water tank for the screen wash removed (pig of a job) with two pumps and water pipework to disconnect, then you get to fight with the actual bulb itself. On the other side, same concept with the addition of a set of horns to remove instead of the water tank.

Talk about idiot design...took me 4 hours to do two sidelight bulbs with all the kit.

Seems to be a thing to make us fork out for a garage to do everything. Very frustrating.

On the other extreme on my Volvo you just disconnect the electrical connection and pull out 2 pins to release the headlights - no spanners or grazed Knuckles.  Smile

Once I did the first it took me less than a minute to do the other.

This reminds me on my old C3. The first time it took me half an hour, leaving me with numb fingers.
But after a few repetitions, it was pretty straightforward job.
