[Warning Light] Emissions
#1
Hi there

Just got a warning up on my 2018 1.6 (BHW). It came up with a UREA warning and then the emissions fault. Put 10 Ltrs of adblue in but it made no difference. Thought it weird as I normally get the normal countdown to refill, but nothing. Put Diagbox on which came up with the fault coder of U029D. Is this a case of replacing the NOX sensor, or is it a bit more involved than that? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Have a watch of this:

Lost comms, NOx sensor

Replacement of same.

If nothing else is wrong then you should get a way with a sensor or it is just disconnected underneath. Or the Adblue injector is clogged, crystalized or otherwise has s**t itself, and that is why the NOx reading is not correct.

cheers for that Zion, replaced sensor and all warnings clear, just need to try and get the old probe out now. Tried local garages to get them to slacken off probe but not interested. Next week was nearest offer.

Yeah you may need a torch flame to release it. I had a bugger of a job getting an 02 sensor out once.

Found a near local garage run by a young Polish lad, just got him to crack it when on the ramps, "bobs yer uncle" and "jobs a good un" £20 well spent. My problem working with a trolley jack and stands, couldn't get the purchase to overcome the initial movement.

Does the new NOX sensor need anything to register it on the system? All seems to be working fine.

No mate it's fine, no coding required.
