I recently got some door trims/cards from an M59 that look identical to my M49 ones, except they have provision for in door speakers!
So I want to put them on today, but I am expecting there to be no speaker wiring in my doors, so I want to run some cable through the connector from the body to the door. Does anyone have an idea about how they come apart, and how I can feed new wires through it?

On the B9 it's a rubber sheath that you pull back to expose a hard white plastic locking piece, with a little screwdriver you release a wee tab and the plastic bit slides out. Then you can fish wires down the tube. Fitting is reverse.
Not sure but I expect yours is the same unless it's the unscrewable large round thing. If so, others will be along to help.

Had a look.. mine has a black connector that 'unscrews'. Thankfully, the door speaker wires were already installed in the doors, even though my car never had speakers in the doors.
