Recently got a 2012 Berlingo van, and thinking of giving it a bit of TLC
i.e - new paint job (undecided on colour)
     - some nice new alloys
     - front and rear light units
     - maybe lowering the suspension a little
     - maybe new front and rear bumper/body kit (but nothing ridiculous)

Already had a double din audio unit put in.

looking for inspiration or any does and don'ts, i've tried looking on the web for some of the stuff Ive listed above put don't really know what I'm looking for, if any of you have done any of it and could point me in the right direction to a website or a link to eBay etc, that would be great

Thanks in advance

Highly recommend changing the steering wheel to either a C3 or a DS3 unit

You can only fit Peugeot or Citroen alloys at 4x108 as nothing else fits. Ford Fiesta has the same bolt pitch but the hub center is the wrong size and does not fit. Don't waste money on Ford rims.

Not much custom parts are available, as these are way down the list of vehicles people tend to customise.

Oh and the rear suspension is unique to the Berlingo B9 and the C4 Grand Picasso, so you will not get lowered suspension for the rear. We have looked till we are blue. There are only springs with 20mm drop for the rear.

Don't mess with the lights, they are all driven from the BSI computer and it doesn't like LEDs, it will behave weirdly.

You will come to know the limitations and weirdness of French multiplexed systems...

Ah right ok so there's not really alot that we can do it, or have a wide selection of stuff to choose from.

With the LEDs what do you mean about it behaving weirdly, will it bring up faults or intermittently working?

Shame that there isn't much variety of stuff to customize Berlingo's with as it drive nicely for a van

Thank for the feed back though really appreciate it

I know. A few of us have tried..it can be done if you want to have custom shocks made up etc, anything is possible if you had unlimited funds and time. But off the shelf stuff is scarce as they see it as a niche of old man's car or a workie van. It doesn't have the tuning & styling sector support that some vehicles do.

If you haven't found it already, you might find this Facebook group for the Modified Berlingo/Partners Owners Club useful.  I haven't checked it out myself as both my vans are unmodified, but it looks like its an active group (nearly 300 posts in the last month).
