Berlingo electrical issues
#1
i I hope you can help me. I have a Citroen Berlingo 1.4 year 2001 RPO(0)8855 LHD which has some electrical issues.

Ignition off I have no interior lights no memory on audio no central locking or cig lighter and the clock stops running.

Have checked all the fuses, I have no SH in my fuse box there is a marking SH but there it is not possible to get in any fuse.

BSI has power all the time, but when the ignition is turned off, the fuse box in the cabin becomes powerless.

Can't find any cable faults, the car was bought in this condition so I don't know when this started.

All suggestions are welcome.

Couple of things that spring to mind.

You might want to try a BSI reset, as weird faults on Citroens/Peugeots can often be down to this, if you search on the forum

BSI reset procedure : https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-231...=BSI+reset

Make sure you follow the instructions EXACTLY as written [or you can get other BSI problems]

The other thing is, is the stereo system the original Citroen unit? Often when these are replaced with aftermarket units they get wired in incorrectly using the wrong power feed and that can cause all sorts of problems?

BSI reset is performed without improvement.

No error codes according to Lexia, even the OBD socket pin 16 becomes without electricity.

It's an aftermarket stereo, so I'm trying to disconnect it.

Thanks for the reply, will report if it solved the problem

Ok in the engine bay fuse box (BM34 engine slave unit) the fuse F11 feeds the SH link in the 28 way fuse box in the cab, which then feeds two fuses near to it, F9 and F8, and F8 is the fuse for the OBD socket Pin 16 12v power, F9 powers the BSI permanent supply which then goes on to other items when the BSI needs to power them.

F8 is also the main 12v memory permanent supply to the Radio on pin 7 of the radio plug.

The engine bay fuse may have changed between F8 and F11 on some models, as it is quoted as both in Servicebox - or there is a discrepancy on two diagrams. So in the engine slave unit it can be F8, or F11 - check both.

I have to say for what it's worth, when it comes to technical faults with any of these vehicles you are a legend Zion. If you don't run your own auto fault diagnostic business you should start

Hi
Here is the report after using the car for a while.
Thanks for all the help now it works after installing SH.

But strangely only the interior lighting at first but after a day or so the central locking started working too.

Many thanks for sharing your knowledge
