Why does my car shake this bad (Video)
#1
Hi there.

I have a 2004 2.0 HDI Peugeot Partner

As you can see in this video:

https://youtube.com/shorts/0vo9I29vfdw?feature=share

My gear lever shakes very badly in reverse and in 1st gear.
I do admit, I was reversing up a very small slope with no gas but this is waaay too much!

Similar shake in 1st gear (though not as intense)

Rear engine mount is new and so is the top mount.

What could it be

Air in the fuel (have a look for bubbles in the clear hose on top of the engine)
Fuel filter not sealed/cap split
Dirty air/fuel filter
Air flow meter power supply
Air flow meter

Hi

In all fairness, if I scan it i get a MAF sensor fault "short to ground or open circuit "

Could that be it?

Unplug it and try to drive, if it's now good, then the MAF is bad. It will revert to the stored map value when disconnected.

Unplugging it doesn't seem to make ANY difference at all. That's what baffles me.

Ok then it's not working anyway. Short to ground or open circuit is no signal from the MAF. Are you unplugging it then starting the engine (correct way) or unplugging it while running already (wrong way)

Of course while engine and ignition off. I had my doubts about this when i once unplugged it and saw 0 difference in the way the car drives.

Weird. What could it be?

Even if I scan with PP2000, Same fault remains unchanged as well

No idea. Could be a fuse, wiring fault, bad plug at the ECU, bad maf, have you tried a replacement maf then?

Haven't gotten my hands on one that's confirmed working...

Make sure you've got a good 12v and 5v on the relevant pins of the plug and that the wiring isn't damaged
