hi everybody, i've recently just passed my test and looking at getting a van mainly for work but they also seem to be cheaper to insure than cars and would like to find out abit more info about the berlingos and surely owners are the best to ask.

Welcome jenko. Yes, this is a good place to share experiences from the motoring world. I got my first ever Citroén in October ( a Berlingo Multispace) and so far love driving it (after 2200 km).

Hi Jenko and welcome vans are always handy but a multispace berlingo is roomy with the seats out I am not sure about the insurance costs if you have just passed your test I guess you will get clobbered with a high premium ,depending on your mileage it pays to look into the MPG of your chosen vehicle sometimes a diesel is better.

Hi Jenko, welcome, if you read the threads on here the berlingo seems to come out well. But maybe were all biassed...ha ha.

I have a 1.9d multispace. I'm 23 now but only passed my test august 2009 (had 2 years no claim already) with quinn direct my first year was £96ish a month for 12 months. This year it's £75 a month with the same insurer but some others wanted £300 a month so I'd get quotes before buying. Not regretted buying the berlingo though

Thanks for the welcomes, its the 1.9d im lookin at, and being 18 the insurance is cheap at £3100 which is a lot of money but i also got quoted on a 1.1 saxo y reg at just over the £4600 and with it being for work im not putting much towards it

Sounds pretty expensive to me jenko, going off the saxo quote. A saxo x reg was my first car and i paid £1500 (no named drivers). That was with Quinn-Direct. I've heard Adrian Flux are not bad, but never got a quote from them personally.
