Oil in coolant

Hi guys,

Unfortunately on maintenance of my 98 berlingo I found oil in my header tank, although it’s not very thick, it’s just floating on the surface, any ideas of what it could be, no running or overheating problems at all

Could be a few things, but start with a sniffer test (CO test, you can get a kit of ebay for not a lot), rule out the bit scary thing that rhymes with "bread basket", then move onto the more trivial stuff.

The test came back clear luckily, and isn't a head gasket issue. I'm thinking maybe an oil cooler issue, is there any other possible causes that this could be

How does oil get into the coolant other than head gasket? I’d be interested to know.
