[Warning Light] Engine fault

Hi

I recently had an issue where when I parked and locked up the car the headlights and wipers would turn themselves on. It turned out I needed a whole new fuse panel(?) as a mouse nesting in there had corroded it.

I have only been on a few shorts runs since and the engine fault warning came up on the trip computer. I ran the diagnostics to double-check. Is it possible that this light could happen because of an electrical fault even though the board has only recently been replaced? I’m worried about driving it anywhere to get it checked for obvious reasons

Hard to say. It needs scanned with either Diagbox or a pro scanner of some brand to see what the fault actually is. Could be completely unrelated.

Normally on the central screen, electrical faults are stated as exactly that - as in "circuit fault: alternator control fail" and not "engine fault" but you never know. Can-bus faults cause the BSI to totally freak out, but again it calls those "VAN communication fault"

"Engine fault" can be additive pump failure for example. Used for anything engine or pollution related.
