I wouldn't expect them to cover that. It's not broken and at 6 years old it's probably seen a fair bit of rain and salt. Just brush the bejesus out of it with a wire brush from b&m then cover it with grease, or paint Kurust onto it before greasing and it'll last a good few years yet.

I'm sure the dealer will discretely laugh you out of the showroom ......
Unless it really gets to you I'd simply cover with thick grease and forget about it.
I doubt it would a difficult job to renew it.
