Well I've had trouble free running for a good while now until a rattling noise has appeared coming from my gear selector and only when in 5th.
The noise dissappears if I put my hand or even just ever so slightly apply pressure to it.
As I say it's only when selected in 5th gear.
Any ideas ??

It'll be wear in the 5th gear selector shaft bearing and the selector fork itself rattling maybe - they are actually prone to wearing these parts out from what I've read, if you or someone before you, drive with your hand on the shifter in 5th. That part of the gearbox can be replaced. Salvage Rebuilds UK have done something similar on video via YouTube.

Exactly as above, will require stripping and rebuilding, I would have the one in your vehicle stripped otherwise you can purchase a second hand box and have the same issue etc.

Probably blown a hose. Hope it's not damaged too badly.
