Sudden overheating
#11
Сoolant leakage from the thermostat is a "common issue" on Euro 6 2015 on engines . But this does not cause overheating, if you remember to monitor the coolant level in the expansion tank. The photo shows my old thermostat with traces of coolant crystallization.

Sounds similar to when I had a leak in an EGR cooler on the M25. AA tried filling the coolant but it was coming out of somewhere at the back of the engine as fast has he was pouring it in.

Thank you for the update.

For those who will be faced with such a problem:
Уou can easy check if it's the pump or the thermostat.
Start the engine and let it warm up to normal operating temperature. Turn on the heating. If the heating works well, it's a thermostat. If no warm air is blowing, it is the pump, because there is no circulation through the heater core.

Brilliantly simple way of explaining this. Cool
