1.9D Rear Sliding Door

Hopefully someone would be so kind as to give me a few pointers here...

The drivers side rear door is stuck in the closed position, i have had the door card off and the handle / mechanism / rods are all moving as they should and i think the problem is to do with the cable.

I cant get the door open to see if it has snapped or come off the lever at the bottom that releases the door so I was wondering what the next step would be, if theres some way to release it manually as Im stumped at this point and the missus is stressing at me lol.

Hi, if you have got the internal panel off , make sure the central locking solenoid (52) is not in the locked position. Try moving it the other way it is now and then open the door.
The cable is just for the catch to hold the door open.
Have a look at the diagram.
