Aircon needs re-gassing, or is just as is?
#1
Hi All,

With the weather hotting up I was wanting to be sure i'll be nice and cool.

I've never owned a car with aircon before.. but I am not sure if my Berlingo isn't really chilling things?

Is re-gassing your aircon a normal thing to do? Or could it be a bigger issue?

Often they do need regassed. Could also have a leak but you can't tell till the proper equipment is used on it.

Sadly it does have a leak.

Tech doing the regas said to identify where the leak is difficult.. but most often it is the condenser so possibly cheaper/easiest to simply get one and replace that as a first step.

Does this advice track? If so, what is the part number please. Is it uniform across a lot of citroen models? thanks

Tech says there is a leak, but can't find it. That is why you took it to a specialist!!!!
He obviously doesn't have all the right gear or can't be bothered.

I thought there was a tracing fluid they can put in the refrigerant which they can then observe leaking with a UV light. Might be worth a Google search?

I've given my usual mechanic a call, see if they can do it or suggest a specialist.
