Berlingo VTR 1.6HDI 2009
Since my son got this car the radio has done wierd things but last night when he went to it the whole ignition, dashboard and lights went bananas (I am relaying what he told me over the phone) After turning the ignition on and off several times and trying to start it with no starter resonse from the key he managed to gt it going. Turning everything off when he turned things back on it started and behaved normally.
Any suggestions as to the problem and a possible fix including an independent special in the Chorley/Preston are would be gratefully received

I'd be checking the main power cables and earth's Pete, sounds like a loose connection at the main terminal or lug for the heavy cables and could be earth or positive, I've seen this before. Also check the big positive cable in the top of the fusebox linking the battery to the MF fuses. It has a visible nut on top. Finally the engine to body strap but most likely battery to body or to fusebox since the dash went nuts.
Or mice have moved into the fusebox.

Yep, I thought it would be a connection problem. I wont get chance to look at it though as I am about to go on holiday.

Well, son took it to a place near him, they tested the alternator and the battery. Apparently the alternator is OK but the battery is goosed so he has had a new battery fitted.
We will wait and see if this fixes his problem.
Phone call from other son, his Japanese pickup has got a blocked dpf. No peace.
