Battery disconnected, cruise control not working.?
#1
Hi, new starting motor fitted yesterday & today I've noticed my cruise control is not working.
No sign of it on the dash (icon), I'm thinking since the battery has been disconnected that this is the problem.?
Anyone with a solution.

My only experience is one morning the car threw up a load of warnings as I started it, misfiring etc, so I switched it off and left it for a while, then went back to it and it started/ran ok. No warnings shown. But I did notice on that journey the cruise control didn't work. No icon for it.
I left it until the next day when it started/ran ok again and now the cruise control icon was there and working.
I put it down to the usual electronic gremlins and it reset itself.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.

It is possible the BSI is in a tizz due to not being shut down properly before the battery was disconnected. A BSI reset may resolve the issue. I posted the procedure in the how-tos or the B9 section.

Also is the switch rotated into the cruise position on the left lower control? You maybe always had it on the "cruise enabled" spot, so the icon is always there in the little center display between the speedo and rev counter even when cruise is off, but the mechanic may have spun the dial to the fully "off" position so the icon does not show.

That's how mine works. If there is a problem like the brake switch or wrong speed to engage then the large center display at the stereo says "CRUISE IMPOSSIBLE!" when you try to set / reset / resume it.

If the rotary wheel is on the off position, then nothing happens when you press the buttons, no message, no icon...

Alternatively maybe the engine bay fuse F7 has blown, it supplies the clutch and brake switches.
