Broken coil spring??
#1
Hi all -

This is the scene inside the offside front wheel arch on my B9.  Heard a very loud clunk whilst driving at low speed today, as if something had hit the car, but there was no debris in the road.  No obvious problem in terms of handling - brakes and steering all seemed fine.  No panel or underside damage, but I'm not sure about this coil spring.  The offside front doesn't seem to be any lower than the nearside, but the coil immediately above the spring seat appears different from the nearside.

Does this look as though the spring may have broken just above the seat?  Grateful for any advice.

Many thanks-
PeteH
