rev counter not working
#1
I've noticed its been asked before but there's no answer, so has anyone had the following problem and sorted it. The rev counter on the whole has stopped working but sometimes it will spring into life til about 2000 revs then drop to 0 and not work again. Tunnel earth and the 2 at the bottom of the A post checked along with the ones by the light under the bonnet. They were all ok. Any suggestions?

Hi, if you PM me your vin No. I'll look up the sensors. I think it'll be the flywheel sensor but not sure.

Does it state STOP in red lighted writing on dash? If yes you've had a failure of same thing I had go wrong with mine. X reg 2000 1.8pet Mspace. Not sure what the bit that failed is called but Citroen wanted over a £1000 just for the part alone and fitting it was another £1000. I took it to an electrical expert fairly local to me and they took the part off and got it reprogrammed for £243 pounds including fitting. I think it controls all the engine management etc and links to sensors in fuel guage/temp gauge and all things on dash. The only problem with mine now is temp/fuel dash displays do not work as should as plugs somehow got messed up when reassembling. I can live with it as it is over 10 years old and has been a good car so far.

Hi
Definitely sounds like same thing I had. You either have to get yours repaired and reset, then refitted, or you need to get a new one fitted, which has to be programed for your berlingo.

Hi, without knowing your engine I can't be sure but usually it's on top of the bell housing and this looks at some magnets which are fixed in the flyweel. There are posts on the forum where these magnets are missing or not there due to changing the flyweel etc.
