Motorcycle theory test
#1
Youngest just failed his bike theory test again today, on the multiple choice section.

Anyone any good sites where he can get some practice or background on this please? Apparently the DVLA don't publish lists of questions anymore to stop people just learning all the answers but he needs some idea of what he might be asked. Some of the questions seem unrelated to riding and it's that many years since I took any sort of test that I'm no help to him !!

Any help appreciated.

Is it similar to the car theory test anyone know? I've got a driving theory test cd I'd be happy to post out if it is.

Yes! That's quite a useful site (despite the spelling mistakes!).
I was a motorcycle instructor in the mid 80s and it took me three tries to get all questions correct! Confusedcratch:
( But I didn't score less than 47 at any attempt.)

Thanks for that he can have a look and practice - every little helps as the old woman said as she...........anyway, thanks Andre - he's got one of those and it does cover some of the same things. He just needs to get the idea of what sort of things they ask.

I tried one of the mock test and scored 43/50 - bit of a surprise to me, suppose I should be revising a bit too!!

I got 44 though I passed my bike test years ago before the theory exam came in. I failed here on braking distances, the hours you can use you horn and a "puffin" crossing, whatever that is??

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

I just tried it (I ride a bike most days) 43 out of 50. I got the one about the single amber light wrong. I said you can go if the way is clear, they said it means stop which I disagree with. I'm sure I have been told that it means prepare to stop.

The one about the bridge didn't show me a picture so I got that wrong too. I got the sounding your horn times wrong too.

From an instructor's point of view any traffic light signal other than
green means stop. This is probably because there is no accurate way to
define 'be prepared to stop' and it's open to various interpretations.

Then the examiner said to me:-

"In the sequence of traffic lights, what comes after the green???"

"Dunno, I've usually gone by then !!!!":whistle::whistle:Confusedillyme:Confusedillyme:Confusedillyme:

Sorry, just couldn't resist throwing that one in....
