New timing belt
#1
Just had water pump and timing belt done today, it whines ! .. I guess this is too tight. However I'm going to scotland in it tomorrow for a week and can't get it back to the garage for adjustment.

Wil it be ok ? Can I adjust it ??

Thanks

Did they fit new tensioners as well?

Mmmm don't know about that ...
I got charged £85 for a timing belt kit, do they come in that ?

A kit should come with belt and pulley(s). I would have asked to have the old bits back. Does sound as though it may be to tight. Citroen use a special electronic 'tool' to measure the tension that clamps over the belt. Its known as a 'seems' device and measures 'seems' units which are like no other! Having said that I've done both petrol and diesel variants of bingos and used the thumb and forefinger 90 degree twist method. Works for me!

Took it back to garage and they were glad I did, it was actually too loose which was making it sing !!

I'd be considering taking it somewhere else in future!
