Hi. Could anyone advise me how to get the 4 figure pin for a replacement key from the vehicle vin number please.
The key with buttons for locking has been lost and we're using the spare plain key
Reason I posted here on general chat is because this is my sister's 05 Dispatch which I have here in Yorkshire to sort a few jobs including a new key with buttons.
I understand that I can get this from Citroen dealer if I take the V5 but that is down in Oxfordshire.
Timpsons at Pontefract can sort a new fob key for £350 (best price I can find) but they need the this pin as they can't get it from the van.
They are only place that can still provide a 'proper' key I have been able to find. Any advice appreciated.

That's the only way you are getting the PIN mate. Citroen dealer with V5 and ID. And it isn't over the counter, takes a couple of days.

Timpsons made me a new plain key programmed from my 3 button key cost £70. Can't they do the process in reverse using something like the
keys available on eBay ?
So where does this bit go then ?

I got an auto locksmith to repair my driver's door lock and provide a new remote key for £150 at my house a couple of years ago, he also managed to register the new key without having the security code or contacting Citroen. Apparently this is something that locksmiths can do these days. So far as I know, he did not clone my old remote key, at least that's what he told me..
Remotes can be registered with the car without the need for a security code, but a key to start the engine will need to be registered with the ECU or cloned from another key.
You can get the security code from any Citroen dealer, but will need the V5 and some ID, not sure what they'll say if the V5 is not in your name.

Thanks for replies. York car keys at Acomb seem confident they can use my spare key to program a new one and also the cross end profile of the key not a problem. This has been the problem with the other car key specialists I called
Will update thread when they get back to me

Any outfit which can duplicate the key fully will work fine, the car then thinks both keys are the same one.
That's different from registering a different new key with the car. Duplication of the key means both transponders have the same code.
Only thing is that not every key shop can duplicate a key this way. If you find one that can, job done!

Just remember to check the new key works as soon as you get it, we had a duplicate done for a Focus at Timsons a few years back and had to take it back to get it re-done as it didn't work.

Latest on this key saga is that York car keys can't get the correct key blank but a company called 'the key team' from Leeds will come through and sort it for £340 + vat.
No messing with trying to find the 4 figure pin
Lot of money but at least it will be sorted and have the remote central locking again.
Thanks for suggestions and advice

Have you asked Citroen / Peugeot?
That is an awful lot of dosh for a key.
I used these, both in Grimsby but the first one is mobile & the second know their stuff.
