Rear seats Multispace 2017
#1
Hi I hope someone can help me, I was wondering if it's possible to find a single rear seat to go behind the front passenger seat? My configuration is 2+1 with the two behind the passenger seat and it doesn't fit in now I have fitted a kitchen unit behind the drivers side. It looks like there are multiple holes in the floor but I can't just swop over the single seat over to the other side because of the metal hook on the car post that the seat back slots into - I need a seat with that on the right.

I think your only chance of achieving your goal is if you can source a single seat from a left hand drive vehicle.

Just had a thought, what about one from a Berlingo/Tepee that came with 3 individual rear seats rather than the 2+1 configuration - might be worth contacting a local breakers yard to see if they can help you. Here's one I've just spotted on Ebay

Thanks, I saw that one but sadly it doesn’t have the part that connects to the van itself - I’ll try to post a pic to clarify

Hi Helen, the Multispace came with the option for three individual removable rear seats, so you should be able to get hold of a three seat set. One thing that you would have to do though is a modification to the rear seat rail. The hole for the inner retention clip will be there for the passenger side rear single seat unit, but the inner washer likely will not. It wasn't with mine. This inner washer is what the spring loaded prongs engage with to hold the seat down at each side of the rear. The seat will go in without that there, it just won't be affixed at that one point.

Here's a picture of the rail off mine. The hole arrowed with the tick is what isn't present, but needs to be on the hole that's arrowed with the x

It may well be the case that your much later model might have that in place. The load carpet that covers over the rail will have an embossed blank that you can prise out of the carpet to expose that currently unused hole without having to remove the whole unit

Here's a set of individual rear seats. Highly unlikely you'll be able to get just the single seat you want on its own.

Thank you! There seems to be so many models with slightly different fixings- it’s a bit of a minefield but now I know what I’m looking for - and that it exists- so that helps a lot!
