Citroen berlingo 1.9d 2004 ecu failure
#11
I still don't understand how swapping it makes a difference. Bypass it, yes. Swap it for another one, doesn't make sense in how it will work just because it's a different one?

The original one is coded and controlled by the ecu.
The replacement isn't coded and is controlled by a switched live.
At least that's the theory  Big Grin

I'd never heard of a coded stop solenoid. Maybe just that it's covered up and if you could get to it, using an alternative 12v supply would make it work.

Van's running : )
Fought me abit.
First a missing injector return pipe connector was missing so it was drawing in air.
Found it on a ledge of the engine, luckily.
Had to order a pipe blank for the injector from euro car parts, which came yesterday.
Then my battery died.
Luckily my mate had a spare for £20.
No beeping from the unpaired ecu either.
Happy days.
Thanks for the help.

So no swapped stop solenoid needed, as said before. Good to hear it's working. You were missing a leak-back pipe. That will do it every time.

I definitely needed the stop solenoid.
Before it wasn't getting any fuel at all.
I've since found out the garage removed the pipe to see if it was getting diesel, it wasn't.
It was the ecu company that recommended I try to replace the stop solenoid originally cos without the eeprom chip I wouldn't be able to disable the immobiliser/stop solenoid.
