Fuel Filling Problem - 2016 Partner Tepee
#1
I've just filled my daughters car with diesel and I am increasingly of late having difficulty filling it without the pump nozzle auto-stopping.  I've tried all different angles etc but it's becoming a right pain.  The fuel filler neck does have an anti-siphon thingy which I think was factory fitted and also the car is wheelchair adapted and has a modified tank, but I presume the filler neck is all standard.

The only thought I had was there might be a breather tube blocked.

Any thoughts?

Well if it used to be alright and it’s gradually got worse then somethings up. How about an air line gun down the breather? Can’t think of much else. Can you pull the nozzle back out a little bit more when filling?

I think there was a post not too long ago about the breather valve getting blocked . it also stops fuel leaking out if upturned in an accident.
Cant find the post now but think it was from Zion , something like a spring gets gummed from overflowing fuel running into the air vent ?

Will keep looking

Thanks for the replies.

@brodfather11  - that would be great if you were able to find the thread, I did do a search before posting but found nothing obvious.  Perhaps @Zion might remember.  Will have another look myself.

Cheers,
Mark

Many thanks for that Zion, I'll check it out when I get a chance (the car is currently at my daughter's supported living address).  Coincidentally I had a PM from a forum member who used to have a similar WAV Peugeot Partner, and he also had difficulty filling sometimes, which makes me think it could possibly be a 'feature' of the convertion and tank modification.  Nonetheless I'll check the filter - thanks for the info.

Ah yes could be, as the wav has a tiny fuel tank. Since diesel foams up when filling, the effect is much worse on a small tank. Worth fuelling it slowly with a part trigger than full bore.
