hello
did a search but can't see a similar fault.
neighbours van 2005 hdi, no driverside indicators, front nor back, neither when using hazard switch nor from the stalk.
All fuses are ok ( hope I got them all )
I'm suspecting an issue with a towbar fitted last year. I think there should have been a bypass relay installed.
I have yet to inspect the towbar electrics.
I did a reset etc.. fault remains. If the worst has been done to the BSI what's the best option, replace or repair.
thanks for reading..

Hi, are the front wing side repeaters working?
Do you get the audible sound when o/s indicators selected & do you get the tell tales lighting on the dash?
And the obvious one - are the lamps ok ?
Check the tow bar electrics, if they look ok try plugging a trailer/ caravan in and seeing if you get the indi's on them working.
Let us know your results.

no repeaters working either,
yes when stalk is moved do have the audible noise but at faster speed, like the old flasher units when a bulb is blown :-)
if the hazards are pressed speed goes back to normal
I had no details of the fuses layout, but could find none blown. I'm wondering is it the case that if the bsi does detect a fault on that side( say the spliced towbar wires are earthing) that it can shut down bulb output voltage to that side.
thanks for reading.

The indicators are fed directly from the Bsi.
I would carefully inspect the tow bar wiring - usually it will be behind one of the rear light clusters - I'd try the offside one seeing you're having trouble with that side. Sounds like a short or something dragging the voltage down.
The Bsi monitors the current drawn by the lamps so if there is something a miss ie blown lamp etc you get the fast flashing indication.
If you don't need the tow bar, disconnect the wiring and see what happens.
Let us know how you get on.
