2016 Berlingo Multispace
#1
Hello!!

I had a really strange issue today.

My Berlingo has been converted into a microcamper and we hire it out when not using it.
Some guests arrived to pick it up today and I plugged their Android into the USB socket to demonstrate the Mirrorlink feature (which I have never been able to find the right app). The touchscreen just completely locked on the radio screen, no buttons worked at all. When I switched the ignition off, the radio carried on playing but the screen turned off. It has never done this before and it was very embarrassing!

So after turning the ignition off and on a couple of times, I disconnected the battery just to reset everything. Turned on the ignition, the touchscreen is now stuck on the Citroen logo.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Sorry I have no idea, but to help others who might, did it happen when you plugged the phone into the USB socket, or did it happen when the Mirrorlink connection was attempted?

If you have any documentation on the Mirrorlink feature such as a Citroen user guide, read its small print thoroughly. Maybe it needs a recent revision of Android to work with, or a certain brand of app?

Thanks for the reply.

It did appear to happen as soon as I plugged in the phone, we didn’t get as far as selecting Mirrorlink, it just froze. They had just downloaded the app though but it was asking for a subscription so I am not even sure if it was the correct app. I’m iPhone so I have never used Mirrorlink before.

As far as I know, mirrorlink was discontinued a while back by Citroen, so shouldn't work at all.

Have you ever seen it work on your touchscreen?

Sounds like the firmware is corrupted on the unit now.

No I have never seen Mirrorlink work on it. Apple Car Play works fine.

Just an update. The people who hired the van text to say it was working again. They stopped at some services and when they turned the van back on, 5-10 later, it was working fine!
Weird, probably just needed to be off for a while.
Bloody software.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
