Hi all,
I’m after a petrol Berlingo that’s ULEZ compliant, not too fussed about mileage or age if it has service history and has been looked after. Not keen on a WAV as it’s just a run around that I want to use for fishing (hence the username!).
Based in North London, happy to travel for the right one! Ideally £2k budget.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Cannot help you with you quest for a petrol Berlingo [they are quite rare] but just pointing out that people I know who have owned a petrol Berlingo have all regretted buying the 1.4 version as it was woefully underpowered and not pleasant for longer journeys. That said, if it is only going to be you and some fishing gear you might get away with the 1.4 as it won't be too heavily loaded but personally if I was going for the petrol version, I would look for a 1.6.
Also be aware that the road tax on both petrol versions is pretty high, I think the 1.4 engine is [£290-£320] a year with the 1.6 [£290-£365] depending on the year/emissions

You will not get anything worth having, with £2k. That's dreaming. The cheapest 06 one I've seen, and it was a WAV, was £3995.
You have no chance. All of London is trying to find a cheap petrol car now.

Agree there is a lot of rubbish out there! I’ve actually found a immaculate, 1 owner, low mileage WAV that I’m viewing this week. My opinion has changed on the WAV part as I’m thinking to cut out the ramp and cover the dropped floor to level. Any major things to think of when doing this?
Appreciate the ramp forms part of the rear bumper, so will be an angle grinder job to floor level I think.

Thanks for the advice - I’m viewing a 1.6 this week. It really is for poodling around so not too fussed if I get overtaken by 50cc mopeds

The tank fitted to wavs is tiny but should do if you don't do many miles

BAD NEWS ALERT!!
I have had a 1.4 and a 1.6, both 53 plates. I bought the 1.4 because it was cheap (some years ago now) and didn't expect much from it, but I have to say that it was very good, hardly any different to the 1.6. That could be down to driving style - I rarely toe it. Maybe that will give you confidence in looking over this great find...
...ERR, SORRY MATE BUT CHANGE OF MIND.
I JUST PUT IT THROUGH THE VEHICLE CHECKER
THIS IS NOT ULEZ FRIENDLY.

To see what a ULEZ friendly result looks like, try DA08GVE. I call her Dave.
