No brake lights
#1
Good afternoon all. Currently have a 2011 berlingo with no brake lights working. Have checked all relevant fuses, bulbs and brake switch for continuity and everything seems good. There is just no power coming through to the plug that attaches to brake switch. Do I have to check every fuse or just the relevant ones. Any ideas on we’re to start next. Tia Andy

Hi there, If you unplug the switch, the brake lights should default to "on", if not then you may have a BSI fault. (Body Systems Interface computer)

The switch goes there and the BSI operates the lights for you. It's not like a conventional old system where the switch powers the lights.

Have attached the schematics for you to look at. Also a legend for item numbers and wiring & plug colours. Plugs are noted as follows: 14V NR would be 14 pin, black plug (NoiR)

I currently have no working brake lights but this is what I have discovered so far which might help you.
The live 12V to the brake switch (pin 2 for my vehicle)  comes from fuse 7 in the engine compartment  (back right corner of the engine compartment when standing at the front of the car).
When the brake switch is pressed it provides power to pin 1 of the brake switch that feeds into the BSI.
