From an excellent suggest by @Gryffindor (a long time member)
To stop receiving notifications every time a spammer posts something rotten on a thread you are subscribed to (all it takes is you to post once in the thread yourself) you can always turn off notifications by unsubscribing that thread.
So... instructions:
Outlook email
Gmail email
For other mail clients like Thunderbird, Google the solution, there will be one.

Quote:@Gryffindor:
The problem with turning off notifications is that you no longer get genuine ones which might interest you.
There is away of cutting out the unwanted junk but keeping wanted notices. It can't currently be automated within the forum but us individuals can do it.
Collect a list of unwelcome keywords from these notices, such as fullz, crystal, meth, and so on.
Go to your email app and look for a way to create and edit macros or filters.
Create a macro so that any email with any of these keywords in its subject line and in the message body gets put in your junk folder or your deleted folder.
It is unlikely that a genuine poster will normally use any of these keywords (except me here now).
