2020 Auto Not Starting
#1
Hey,

Any automatic owners ever had a problem with the van no starting?

A big spanner appeared on the speedo display and then after I stopped the van wouldn't start again. No other warning lights appeared.

It sounded like a ticking noise. Starter motor maybe?

I got the AA out and he tried and failed to get it started.

He checked the battery, thought it was low on charge so tried to jump start it. No joy there. He then checked the fuel... NO I didn't put petrol in it. Lol.
Then onto diagnostic, the machine showed the fuel pressure at 5 psi? He said it should be in the hundreds?

The week before my GF said my lights didn't seem as bright so could it be the battery is indeed faulty and its somehow immobilised itself?

The AA couldn't tow as it was stuck in a gear?

No power though with the wipers, windows etc not working and just 3 lights on it.

Anyone any ideas?

It's at my local garage awaiting them looking in the morning.

Cheers

Jamie

Wasn't that. 2 batteries tried just incase. Garage suggest it's the camshaft linkage?

When I read your first post I thought it might be this.  Is your engine the 1.5 BlueHDi?  The camshaft chain is a known weakness on these engines, though getting Citroen to admit it isn't easy.  The last dealer I went in said he had 2 or 3 vehicles in the back with the same problem.  The recommended engine oil has been changed to try and address the issue and prevent breakage, though that of course doesn't help if it's already broken (read through this thread for extra info: https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-23596.html)
