Tailgate Insulation

Does anyone have any experience to share on getting to improve the tailgate closing sound?
I've had 2 X B9's and now a K9 and they've all made a cheap clanging sound on closing, especially if another door is open.

I was wondering if the thermal insulation that forum members fit for micro camping would help? or any other ideas?

Sound insulation panels inside the tailgate?

Fill the tailgate with polystyrene beads.

Seriously though, the stick on foam insulation panels make a massive difference.

remove the plastic door trims, insert as much sound proofing foil like STP Black Gold inside the door frame, after that your door closing sound will be like a Merc

First point of call for big flat panels on vans jas always got to be stick a bit of roofer's flashing tape to the inside of the panel.

Or you could take your van to the Notting Hill Carnival and pretend it's a set of steel drums.
