as you can see number plate visible, rack cannot be nicked, legs are supported on bumper , I can still lift tailgate with 2 bikes on. But does need to be held up [with em on] Otherwise brill.
It is a VW T4 camper bike rack with a couple of inches cut of top tubes [i did this, so not difficult] so it didnt stick up too high for when I also want to get my 2 canoes on.
Pete

Are you still happy with using the bike rack? Were there any problems? Planning to order a VW T4 if you are still happy with the setup as it's cool solution.

More than happy, no problems at all with it. Good professional rack from Fiamma, fits well, cant be pinched, you can lock bikes on to it safely. Looks far better than stick on halfords jobbies. IMHO.
Cheers

try it on back first, fit all bits together on it apart from top fittings. When in position find suitable spot for bracket to be fitted to secure to top of car. Drill one hole all the way through and fit. Only when you are absalutely sure it is ok in new position cut top of to height you find acceptable. You could leave it on if unsure , then resell it as a t4 rack in future. Make sure bottom screw down feet only just toch bumper, they are designed to spread weight when bikes are on onto more points. Check these often as with driving they can unwind and then scratch bumper when closing. So just off bumper when unloaded, and on bumper when bikes on back.
Good luck

Pete, my new T4 rack arrived today. I have assembled the rack and tried to put it on my berlingo. But I have a couple of serious issues:
1) There's not enough space to get the top bracket (the black clip) onto the top of the door whatever position it's in.
2) The top tubes don't seem to be long enough, they seem to be the wrong angle in order for the top brackets to fit on the top of the door too.
3)The version (HDI) I have has a body kit on the bottom of the door so that the rack sits too far away from the door and not enough on the bumper. This could however be fixed by removing the body kit.

Are you sure yours is a T4? If I hold the rack onto the back so that it sits on the bumper I can't see how the top bars are ever going to reach the brackets.
Hoping you can shed some light on this for me.

yes it was off my T4 westfalia. barn door type, not opening door model.
The top fit into the two recess sections on top of berlingo. Minedoesnt have body kit as its vtr model.
Top tubes were def too long and had to be cut down. Youy pic shows mk 3 so struggling to see problem. My car is in garage at moment being repaired so cant take pics for you untill weekend. [hopefully, if its back by then].
Is it bard door t4 rack? Top sections fit [ wiggling into position] the two slots [ like drainage channels on berlingo,]. Have a look at my pics on forum, not garage pics, and see views from rear of my car,
Once I get mine back I can send more detailed pics to you. In meantime I could send pic of rack as its in my garage till I get car back. Send me your e mail.
Pete
does it look anything like the pic above?

Pete,
here's a pic of the same vehicle as mine.

There's no way I can wiggle the clamps onto the top ofthe door - not enough space. I might have to try releasing the door bolts then slip them on then bolt back up. Hopefully there will be enough space, when it shuts....

Hope your plan works out, does fiamma rack look same as mine?

Tony, as I mentioned & linked to earlier in the thread a 2 bike carrier for pre 2008 car is available from Citroen click here The T4 carrier is unlikely to fit older model Berlingo, rear end is completely different from current model.

Hi tony, I passed a mk 2 and looked at rear door arrangement and it doesnt seem to have the two indentations the mk 3 has along the top. The fiamma rack I have slots into these . Can you slot the bit into top of door before fitting to the down tubes?
