Firstly insert bolt thru rear door

Then remove pedal from bike and attach bike to van, a little strap between wheel and tow ball stops any movement.

TIP - you do have to remember to take the pedal with you !

Dog doesn't look too impressed
He always said I should have splashed out on a stainless bolt, and considering the way it rusts up he was probably right!

Almost worth getting a local machine shop to turn a mount up in stainless!
Not too hard and could be done in 20 minutes.

(09-02-2011, 01:13 PM)pch Hi, I actually  have a Skoda Yeti, but I am wondering if it might be possible to convert a fiamma rack as you have to fit it? I have had Fiamma racks on most of my previous Motorhomes and rate them highly. As I live in North Wales also, would it be possible to see the rack on your vehicle, if u still have it ? Thanks Chris - see if this piccy works, if not moderators ...help.Pete Wrote:
as you can see number plate visible, rack cannot be nicked, legs are supported on bumper , I can still lift tailgate with 2 bikes on. But does need to be held up [with em on] Otherwise brill.
It is a VW T4 camper bike rack with a couple of inches cut of top tubes [i did this, so not difficult] so it didnt stick up too high for when I also want to get my 2 canoes on.

Hi All,

Has anyone tried to do similar for a Berlingo 2 panel van with rear barn doors? I guess I would need to modify the Fiamma T5D?

Any help appreciated

I have had for a few years now, on various cars/vans, a Thule tow bar mounted 3 bike rack. In my opinion it's far better than the strap on the back ones.

Just fitted a T4 carrier with extra rails for 4 bikes to our 2010 XTR 1.6 HDi.

A very BIG THANKS to Pete ('pch') for the inspiration!

It was a straightforward job with some simple mods: two cuts, two pairs of holes.  Job done!

I have copied your bike rack onto mine berlingo, and it has been going solid for the past 8 years!  And I use it a lot, often with 4 adult bikes.  I put cheap cushions in between the bikes to prevent them from scratching, and I do not use the fiamma supplied bike holders, but instead I use high quality straps.  Never had a problem.

Apologies for reopening this old thread, but does anyone know if these Fiamma bike racks are compatible with Mk1 Berlingos? I am in desperate need of a good quality tailgate rack for my Mk1.

Thanks in advance!
