Spare wheel alternatives?
#1
Being a WAV there doesn't appear to be any room even a space saver. What are the good alternatives, I haven't had a great experience with sealant so I'm half considering buying a roof rack and lashing a spare to it.

It's a spare or foam I'm afraid, not much else to have.

Might be a space saver about if you hunt online for one, 4x108 (with a 67mm centre bore I think from memory - that's why Ford ones don't fit, centre bore is too small)

Excuse my ignorance. But what is a WAV? I was under the impression that all Berlingos up to at least B9 had a spare underneath.

Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle bud, the floor gets lowered and the fuel tank replaced with a tiny internal one. No room for the cage underneath.

You could try using a small 12volt compressor.
Most of the punctures I've had have been screws in the tread, if you leave the screw in place the leak tends to be very slow allowing you to get to a tyre repair centre. Also meaning that you avoid a potential safety hazard, when changing your wheel.

Glaringly obvious now!

Same with everything mate, until you know, it's not obvious.

I've had two tires go out on me. The first was with my old GS. And you KNOW that when a rear wheel goes on one of those, the fender will rip the tire apart in moments. Not much a can of goop and a 12V compressor could have done, then.
Had the rear righthand tire blow out on the Caddy I drive at work. It too just... disassembled itself all over the road. Again, nothing a can of goop could have fixed.
I'd love to have a spare in my B9 instead of the goop and compressor kit that came with it.
(Electric. The rear half of the battery pack lives where the spare wheel usually goes)

Going to ask around for a spacesaver when my economy recovers.

There are a lot on eBay, some cheap, some not.

Here's one at £22.99 (plus postage of course)

Thanks all, I have a can of foam and a latex/12v compressor kit that failed me miserably and had me hopping home stopping every 10 minutes to reinflate as the tyre was too badly damaged. I just don't want to be in that situation when transporting a disabled person needing the loo for example.

I have my eye on a Peugeot space saver that's also ebay listed atm, if that doesn't work out I 'll buy the above.
