2019 BERLINGO VAN UPPER BRAKELIGHT AND CAMERA REMOVAL
#1
Hi All,
I have a 2019 Berlingo van. It has fitted as standard the rear camera built in the upper brake light housing. It's a big lump of a thing at the top edge of the N/S rear door, more or less in the middle.
Does anyone know how this housing is removed? There are 2 10mm nuts on the inside of the door, which makes the unit loose, but it only moves a few mm, and does not come out any more as you would thing it should.
There feels like there is something else holding it to the door. But I can't see any clips or brackets holding it on.
I've tried some gentle force, but it does not come out any more.
Any advice on its removal would be appreciated.
Thanks all. John

I presume it is similar to the passenger version and despite the camera is fitted in the same way. The bolt threads tend to catch on the bodywork and there is a large rubber seal around the light unit which sticks. Try not to damage the seal and prise it off using a plastic trim tool or similar while pushing on the exposed threads.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the type of light unit in the vid, is not the same as mine. Mine is the much larger unit which has the rear facing camara and well as the brake light.
But thanks for your help. John

Hi. There are clips on the edges of the light unit. One you can get to easily from inside the door. and one set you can't. Good luck! They are tricky.
