Drives fine for some time but at some point I’ll put my foot down in 3rd/4th and it will lose all its guts. Theres no pattern to this, it really is at random and not due to how long I’ve been driving etc... I forget the actual code but remember its boost pressure sensor related. I turn the ignition on and off whilst I’m driving and it resets whatever is happening and I get my power back. I’ve changed the boost pressure sensor and it made sod all difference. Mechanic just keeps calling it “code of death” and wants to change everything apart from the windscreen wipers. Any advice?
Thanks.

You need to know if you are overboosting or underboosting. Then find the reason, wastegate issue, or turbo problem, or control solenoid, boost leak, goes on and on - depends on what is actually happening.

Not sure of relevant to this thread but had similar problem with turbo diesel Punto. The rod / linkage for turbo was seized and as Zion mentioned over boosting and putting engine into reduced power to protect itself.
Just needed releasing oil and a few taps to get rod free again.
