Playing music via Bluetooth
#1
Hello,  I have a Berlingo Enterprise 625 van (2016), which I have owned now for nearly 5 months.  I recently started playing music through the radio system via Bluetooth & my smartphone (Spotify).   All good, except that when each track plays, it stops abruptly half way through, I either have to start it again, or skip to the the next track, and then the same thing happens.  Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or is there a way to sort this?

Never had this before.

Are the tracks which stop, the exact same ones which played before or are they different ones?

Is this the same phone player app or a different one?

Does it work with another Bluetooth receiver and play all the way?

When the track stops, O have to slide the arrow on the screen along, and the same track starts again, sometimes stops again!  I haven't tried this by any other method, i.e. only with my smartphone.  A friend did wonder if it had anything to do with tracks downloaded on my phone via spotify.

I'd try what I suggest to rule out the stereo.

The tracks could have DRM (digital rights management) and the stereo won't play those properly.

How did you manage to download off Spotify? Why not just stream a playlist over Bluetooth instead of downloading MP3s? (I thought Spotify didn't allow downloading except in encrypted format to play using their app only)

Anyway this could be the exact reason. (DRM)

Sorry, I'm not up on tech. & phones, etc. I didn't "download" tracks as you suggest from Spotify, but I am playing tracks that I have selected/saved on my phone via spotify, & am playing them via bluetooth. You suggest DRM (digital rights management) may be reason for not playing properly. If it is a short piece of music, i.e. under 3 minutes, then sometimes it will play it all. Its certainly strange, about half way it just pauses the track. I use android auto in my car (VW Golf) & no issues whatsoever.

If the same app plays with the same phone on a different stereo / car, then there must be an issue with the Citroen head unit but I don't think you can solve that here. Maybe a head unit firmware update would fix this, but that's not easy for some folk who aren't techy, maybe search the forum for that option.

Thanks to those who responded to my query. I'm pleased to report that I have solved the problem of tracks pausing half way through when listening via bluetooth. My sister informed me that she had a similar issue when playing music via bluetooth. She told me to click on spotify before starting to play, and leave cover open on phone, and yes, the tracks play perfectly. I have been used to android auto playing automatically in my car. So, just a slight different procedure to do when playing music through my phone in the van.
