Tweeter mounting

Currently in the process of mounting some components in the front of my van and was looking at tweeter mounting positions and had a brief flash of inspiration...

Could the interior trim pieces from manual mirror'd vehicles be used.....

Part #15 in this pic....

   

I have a sneaky feeling the hole won't be big enough but if anyone has 5 minutes, could you throw a rule over it and gimme a rough dimension before I go crazy and make my own and trim them.....

Ended up going for a test drive in a local van purely to measure the factory covers....

They ain't big enough, certainly for the focal tweeters I have...
