Hi there, I have just (today) bought an 06 Berlingo with split rear seats and the two seat part has got stuck in this folded position for exactly the same reason as everyone described above that the seatbelt has retracted so far and locked out. I don't see there is a way of removing the seats as described in the post by LesGoCrazy, this was also on the Honest John website and referred to a 2002/2003 model. Does anyone know how to fix this on my 2006 model please?

We had to strip the cover off my daughter's rear seat to get to and remove the rewind mechanism then shake it to release the belt tension. We used a
bag clip to stop it rewinding too far in future.
So where does this bit go then ?

Had exactly the same thing happen. I araldited the plastic fitting and went through the advised parting of the seat and backrest to give some slack on the seatbelt. Wrapped the seatbelt round a headrest, screwed the glued plastic piece to the top of the seat, slipped the seatbelt through the slit and then replaced the cover. As a failsafe i araldited the cover to the plastic fitting to stop it popping off. All good!

Bumping an ooold thread.
I'm in this position, have tried the "unbolt seat back wiggle free" solution, but that's not helped. Can't get the car MOT'd until sorted. I've googled around and seen people talk about getting the seat covers off to free the belt but can't quite see where I enter from. Anyone have any further advice on solving this? Other than replacing the whole seat section?
Thanks!
