ESP upgrade
#1
Hi guys,

I just finished my trip to nc500, although I skipped the applecross pass as my right hand driving experience is not enough for that, the rest of nc500 is also very challenging and the route condition is very terrible. My ABS sensor is shocked to broken and the ABS light is on. I know that I just need to change one of the sensor and it will not cost so much. But I've heard that the EU version of almost all B9 Berlingos, together with the UK version built after 2015 have ESC, but my 2011 one not. So I'm just wondering that can I add an ESC system on the ABS for my van? Is the ESC used for 2015 models fit? Or maybe I need to go to mainland Europe to find one for the 2011 model?

Thank you very much.

ESP was available as an option for b9 since the beginning.

Without going through the documentation, I’d assume upgrading basic ABS to ESP is a major operation. I don’t know how much of this is configurable with Diagbox and for how much you actually need to replace or add units.

There are many parts. Accelerometer / Gyroscope unit, ABS (with ESP) unit with correct part numbers, BSI with the correct software to begin with, in order to control the inputs like ESP off etc, and the inevitable coding of the BSI with Diagbox. Too much work to be worth while.

Thank you. But why I even cannot find any used ones built before 2015 with an optional ESP?

Thank you. Its really so much work to do and I don;t think it would be cheap. I'd rather drive one without ESP.
