Mystery Wires....
#1
Hi... still investigating why my M49 2.0HDI won't start.....
Having removed the interior and done some weldng underneath, it seemed quite strange....

so was looking when i noticed two "cut" wires hanging down from behind the fuseboard RHS of the dash...
I cannot believe that two cut wires are intentional.... but there seems to be some for of Big multi plug and the curved shape and length of the wires suggest they may be from there...
(straightened in the pic attached)
any ideas?

God knows. Are they a brown and a white, and are they twisted together further back? The picture is blurry.

If they aren't twisted then no way of knowing what they were for. Twisted ones would be VANBUS on this year of vehicle but who knows.

reall hard to take a pic at the moment... will take he seat out so I can get a better position...
They are not twisted, but as I said there is a big plastic multi plug of some sort and the length and sape seems to follow that of the other wires going to that..
that clump of wires looks like the loom that is in a plastic sleeve that goes across the bulkhead between the screen and the engine bay

Going back to non start. Sure you've tried this but have you reset the fuel shut off sensor button under bonnet if it might have tripped for some reason.
