So the Berlingo is now working fine, but still al small problem. When you reach a trafficlight of crossroad and the press the clutch and brake the car stalls.
I know this problem from ye ol Fiat's and it always was the idle motor. But the Berlingo having drive by wire has no idle circuit.
Is this a common thing? and how to sort it?

Not so common, but can be an issue with the MAF or an intake path leak.

I have the 1.4 petrol engine so not sure if it has a MAF.

Should have one fitted, it will be in the ducting leading from the air filter box to the engine.
Anyway don't worry unduly, hopefully someone will have your answer.
I the meantime try unplugging it and driving around like that to see if anything changes - takes less than a minute to unplug
You may get some spurious associated faults crop up but ignore for now
If your stalling stops with it disconnected then the MAF may be not working correctly.

All fuel injection systems use a MAF. Petrol and Diesel.
