2012 1.6HDI throttle position sensor
#1
I have a 2012 1.6HDI Berlingo van that keeps coming up with eml with a fault code 2127. It seems to be the throttle position sensor but I have no idea where it’s is located, can someone advise where I can find it please. The light goes off on its own sometimes but comes back on when it feels like it, is it worth changing the sensor? any help appreciated

Ahhh this is nothing to do with the engine throttle position sensor. (There isn't one, I answered your other thread. Stick to one thread on one subject please, it gets confusing.)

The fault is in your Air Doseur (butterfly/air throttle) unit which bypasses the intercooler when the engine is cold, to warm it up quicker. That's it's only job, it's not an engine throttle. It feeds the engine cooled boost or uncooled boost air.

They did away with the doseur unit on later models as it is troublesome. It's the big lump to the left as you look at the engine, with wires and plugs, and big pipes leading to the turbo and intercooler.

Here's the code definition from Citroen (read carefully, see the mistake? Cheap code readers give half answers...)

INFORMATION : FAULT CODE P2127 (ENGINE ECU) BOSCH AND DV6ATED4 TURBO DIESEL

Engine ECU BOSCH EDC16C34
Fault code   P2127

After sales description of the fault
code:

Inlet air heater throttle position copy signal : Short circuit to earth ; Value too low

Description of the diagnostics:   Short circuit to earth  / The voltage of the air heater throttle position copy signal is less than : 98 mV (For 250 ms)

Down-grade modes if fault present:  Cutting of all the EGR valve actuators (Turbocharger air cooler) ; EGR valve ; Bypass valve (Intake air heater ) In all operating modes

Cutting of the butterfly initialisations (Intake air heater )

Cutting of the butterfly position regulation loop (Intake air heater )

Switching on of the warning light
and/or warning message

Suspect areas:   Inlet air heater bypass  (air doseur unit) and its electrical harness

It's this thing here:

Nothing to do with the pedal. Just get a used one if you have to swap it. Lots of threads online when these were common. Look for "Citroen air doseur" or "air doser" online

No coding required but a fair bit of work to swap out.

I’ve changed the pedal with a used one and changed the air intake butterfly thing which was different to the one in your photo but I figured it out and got one from scrapyard. Reset the eml and have done over 200 miles over 3 days and no light back so hopefully all good now, hopefully that’s fixed it for now. Thanks for the advise.
