Anybody know please?
I think they've gone. No replies to emails anymore either via the site or the linked APP [Ultra OBD] I ordered this early on and used this a number of times on my B9 Berlingo and it worked fine, correctly diagnosing an ABS wheel sensor [and resetting it after replacement] Also pointing me in the correct direction for faults with the electronics in the engine bay fuse box.
I no longer have a Berlingo and when I tried to use my RED OBD on my new vehicle, I found that the RED OBD just wants to keep downloading firmware updates and seems to be in a constant loop. I'm going to try it out with some other OBD type APPs to see if it works or whether it is destined for the bin. Luckily, being in on the first lot of buyers I only paid £25 including delivery and the money I saved in the diagnostics/resetting I did do on the Berlingo, outweighed what I would have paid out to a garage for diagnostics.
It's a shame if it has gone as it seemed to work well on my B9 Multispace [although other users had varying results] Maybe that was a problem with the product?
Additional info: Had another look around the RED OBD website, as I had used it recently to try and contact them by email [no reply from that email] as well as contacting them through the UltraOBD APP [again no reply] I noticed the name of the CEO of the company on the website, one Parvis Avini, who I 'googled' and it turns out he is one of the founders of the company that also makes the Carly OBD device and Carly APP. Rather strange that he would want to get involved in two different companies basically doing the same thing so not sure what's going on here??
Final update:
Had a look on the German equivalent of 'Companies House' and it appears the company [XAS Applications GmbH] was dissolved on 21/03/2024, so no more RED OBD, or I guess, support for the Ultra OBD APP.
